May 22—28 | Fishing for Atlantic Salmon & Arctic Char in Scotland!
The next seven days will be spent in search of Salmon and Arctic Char in the Scottish Highlands. The Highlands is a wilderness fly fishers dream come true: Miles of undisturbed Lochs and Rivers exist here and extremely limited access translates into some of the most pristine surroundings to be found anywhere in the world. You’ll spend 4 days fishing for Atlantic Salmon and 3 days in search of the elusive Arctic Char. Most days, Land Rovers will be your mode of transport as you make your way to rarely-fished lochs throughout the Highlands.
On two days, however, you will use a helicopter to gain access to remote fly fishing locations in Scotland. This is an incredible experience and not just for the fly fishing alone: Flying out of Inverness and into the rugged snowcapped mountain ranges while admiring the awe-inspiring scenery is quite a wonderful experience. This will stay with you for the rest of your life. Simply knowing that you are going to a remote hill loch that would take days on foot to get into that hold untold amounts of rarely fly fished for Wild Brown Trout & Arctic Char can be inspiring. The thought of knowing that you are placing an imitation fly over the top of Trout that may have never been fly fished before can be quite exciting and the temptation to rush into it has to be controlled with self-discipline.
Throughout the expedition, fully insured and qualified guides will be with you. For beginner fly fishers, one-on-one guide will be provided. For more experienced fly fishers, one guide per 2 fishers will be provided. These guides will look after your every need and will give instruction and fly choice for the chosen beats.
At the end of each day, we will return you to the Castle for a rest, a much deserved dinner, and a variety of evening activities including a clay shooting experience and a special whiskey tasting.

Accommodations | Leys Castle | Inverness, Scotland
Located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and just a stone’s throw from the City of Inverness, Leys Castle is an ideal, secluded location that caters for a multitude of purposes. The Castle has been lovingly restored and its Gothic and Romanesque detailing deliver a unique experience - from the eight exquisite and opulent bedrooms to the charming and sociable public rooms. The magnificent lawns, surrounding landscape and rich wildlife frame the Castle superbly. Our staff can turn your dreams into reality at Leys Castle, taking care of everything from catering and transport to entertainment and security. Or, if you prefer to do things yourself, our staff are happy to take a back seat allowing you maximum flexibility.
The Highlands is home to rich wildlife and the Cairngorms National Park is right on our doorstep. The possibilities for fishing, shooting, and golf in and around Leys Castle are endless. If it's activities of the 'adrenalin' kind you seek then skiing, biking and other adventures abound. As well as the grounds of Leys Castle, there is extensive walking and sightseeing to be had at Loch Ness where the elusive 'Nessie' likes to keep a low profile. Inverness itself offers a wide range of shopping and eating experiences, and Culloden Battlefield and Urquhart Castle provide a range of unique sightseeing opportunities.
From the moment you step into Leys Castle, the experience begins. Marvel at the detailing of this renovated 19th century Gothic mansion. Close your eyes and take a step back in time as the carefully selected period furniture and features make an immediate impact. From the Grand Entrance Hall that is rather aptly named, to the magnificent dining room, every room is a sensory experience - from the feel of traditional, yet high quality fabrics to the smell of crackling wood in the octagonal library fireplace. The Castle's six public rooms suit every mood - from a well-stocked library to a games room and drawing room which has splendid views across the estate and beyond. The opulent accommodation is equally welcoming whether your indulgence is to have it all to yourself, or whether it plays its part in a larger gathering or event.
At Leys Castle, we understand that clients want it to look and feel the way it does but to experience it a little differently to what its owners did when it was built 200 years ago. That's why the most recent renovations include modern telecommunications, the latest high quality, state-of-the-art kitchen and bathroom appliances, and the essential luxuries we all take for granted in our modern-day lives. Whilst the Castle's kitchen may therefore hark back to days of old, the equipment and fittings are as good as many top restaurant kitchens.
